MONTHLY TOURISM STATISTICAL RELEASE, APRIL 2026

Zanzibar recorded 38,554 international visitors in April 2026, an increase of 3.8 percent compared with 37,137 visitors in April 2025 and a decrease of 41.2 percent compared with 65,581 visitors recorded in the preceding month (March 2026). European tourists dominated the market by accounting for 52.8 percent of the total visitors in April 2026. Country-wise, Germany dominated the tourism market by accounting for 14.1 percent of all visitors entered in April 2026, followed by South Afrika (10.4 percent), while New Zealand recorded less than one percent (0.2 percent) the least.
