MONTHLY TRANSPORT STATISTICAL RELEASE, APRIL 2026

Total of  103,017 passengers were handled at the Zanzibar Airport in April 2026, which is a decrease of about seven (7.0%) percent and 39.2 percent compared with the corresponding month of the previous year and preceding month respectively. Among the passengers handled at airports, a total of    47,203 passengers were disembarked and  55,814 were embarked.

Disembarked passengers decreased by about 12.6 percent compared with corresponding month of the previous year and decreased by 39.1 percent compared with preceding month which means few people were arriving in Zanzibar than the same time in last year and previous month. The number of embarked passengers decreased by 1.7 percent compared with corresponding month of the previous year and decreased by 39.3 percent compared with preceding month. This suggest that March 2026 was much busier than April 2026.
