MONTHLY TRANSPORT STATISTICAL RELEASE, JANUARY 2026

Total trips of vessels (Enter and Exit) in January 2026 reached 1,211 which is a decrease of 35.6 percent compared with the corresponding month of the previous year 2025 and 25.5 percent compared with the previous month of December, 2025. The decline was mainly driven by dhows, which recorded decrease of 42.2 percent compared with January 2025 and decrease of 48.1 percent compared with December 2025. The total of six (6) calls/trip were made by foreign vessels, 654 calls by local vessel and 551 calls by dhow. Foreign vessel trips decreased by 77.8 percent and 70.0 percent compared with the corresponding month of the previous year 2025 and with the previous month of December 2025 respectively. Their registered tonnage (GRT) increased by 74.5 percent compared with the corresponding month of the previous year and increased by 57.1 percent compared with December 2025.
