MONTHLY TRANSPORT STATISTICAL RELEASE, JUNE 2026
Total of 183,427 passengers were handled at the Zanzibar Airport in June 2026, which is a
decrease of about eight percent (7.8%) and an increase of 83.8 percent compared with the
corresponding month of the previous year and preceding month respectively. Among the
passengers handled at airports, a total of 96,295 passengers were disembarked and 87,132
were embarked.
Disembarked passengers decreased by about eight percent (7.6%) compared with
corresponding month of the previous year and increased by 99.8 percent compared with
preceding month which means that few people were arriving in Zanzibar than the same time in
last year. The number of embarked passengers decreased by eight percent (8.2%) compared
with corresponding month of the previous year and increased by 68.9 percent compared with
preceding month.
Total of 99,703 passengers from international flight were handled at airport, decreased by eight
percent (8.4%) compared with corresponding month of the previous year and increased by
more than one hundred (103.6%) compared with preceding month. Among those passengers
from international flight, 50,495 were embarked and 49,208 were disembarked passengers.
Total of 83,724 passengers from domestic flight were handled at airports, which decreased by
seven percent (7.3%) compared with corresponding month of the previous year and increased
by 64.7 percent compared with the preceding month. Among those passengers from domestic
flight, 47,087 were disembarked and 36,637 were embarked
